Hello World: Doors Open at the Commons Hub
A home for the emerging Hell’s Valley Commons — and now open for booking.
After years of setup, renovation, unexpected detours, and a lot of collective effort, we’ve made it: the commons hub is now officially open to the general public — as a full-fledged event venue and guesthouse in the Austrian Alps.
Hello world! We’re online, on the map, and starting to fill the calendar.
The past few months were a whirlwind of last-minute fixes, with just three community gatherings interrupting the flow — including the third edition of the Collaborative Finance Gathering, CoFi 3.
These test runs helped refine our processes and prepare us for what’s next.
But this week marks the shift: we’re open for real, taking public bookings, and ready to scale.
If you’ve been watching from the sidelines — now’s the time to come by!
🛠 What’s New?
Over the last few years, we’ve turned a timeworn rural guesthouse into a professional, community-rooted event venue — and a launchpad for our broader goal: a commons-based future for our valley.
Since taking ownership in January 2025, things have moved fast: with both of us (Emil & Felix) now full-time, joined by our first employee Daniel, a circle of steady contributors, and ongoing private investment, we've made major strides — turning vision into infrastructure, step by step:
10 handcrafted bunk beds → total capacity: 30 people
45 m2 coworking space & a proper team office
Fully renovated bathrooms with 2 new showers
Reliable Wi-Fi (1 Gbit/s) across the house and garden
POS system → yes, you can now pay by card
Hot Tub filter system (important!)
Fire safety upgrades
Beginning of a Fablab → 3D printer, laser cutter, workshop setup
New website launched; booking engine in progress
A lot of this came together during Hack the Hub 2025, a two-week marathon of hands-on hacking, rebuilding, reorganizing, and reimagining what this place could be. (You know who you are — thanks again.)
🏕 Pilot Phase: Done. Launch in 3… 2… 1…
Since soft launching in early May, we have hosted three multi-day gatherings, including the 3rd edition of the Collaborative Finance Gathering, which brought 45 people together for a week-long deep dive into collaborative economics.
Each event stress-tested different aspects, and in each we learned a lot. Now we’re ready.
From this week onward, we’re open to the world — and we’d love your help getting off the ground.

The fifth edition of the CCG, our biggest annual gathering and cradle of our community, is around the corner.
Workshops, discussions, downtime, bonfires, 50+ builders, thinkers, and activists from across the crypto-commons, ReFi, and alt-economy worlds, six days of creative chaos and mind-blowing conversations.

🚀 What’s Next
We’re gearing up for the next big step on our path towards a Valley of the Commons:
Turning the Hub from a venue into a full-on event campus. The local church and chapel house are on sale, and we’ve spent the last month talking to lawyers, banks and local administration to make it happen.

sneak preview - a proper place to preach our gospel
To fund this expansion, we’re launching a community lending program.
No crowdfunding platform. Just friends, allies, and in-kind returns.
We’ll share more info real soon, and hope for your support.
